Punta del Este is a fancy resort on the east coast of Uruguay. It is cozy. As you see in the pictures it is a peninsula facing beautiful atlantic ocean. Climat is very good there. There are casinos and big hotels of good reputation.

As an international resort you will find in Punta del Este many things you will never see in the rest of Uruguay. You will never see people begging in the streets or shabby people at all. You get to see fabulous cars and vans. All around full with a lot of glamour.

Many argentines decided to move to Punta de Este because of its tranquility and calm atmosphere. Increasingly the portuguese language gets more popular there and it is that the number of brazilians living there has multiplied in recent years.

Even for those of you thinking Punta del Este as place for vacation I can tell you there is a growing number of families moving there. So, you see nowadays bilingual schools and even some college education degrees taught there from beginning to end. Not just an intership or a semester, full college education. Recently a Medical School opened and is changing the idea of the peninsula as a destination to have some fun.

The importance of real estate is significant there. A lot of new buildings are being constructed there, mansions and chalets. You get to see many people from the jet-set taking a vacation or settled there.

As an international resort prices are very international as well.

The number of foreigners there makes Punta del Este a very cosmopolitan place. You'll find people from all over the world. The number of foreigners living there multiplies the number of uruguayans by far. People will usually speak more than a language.
