Traditional Uruguayan Resort: Rocha |
Over the last two decades Rocha county has developed and grown in a tremendous fast way, mainly because of Tourism.
It is an ideal place to go if you are not looking for glamorous hotels, restaurants or discos. If you are looking for somewhere unexpensive, beautiful and calm go to Rocha. Most internationally known destinations within Rocha are Cabo Polonio , La Paloma, Valizas, La Pedrera, Punta del Diablo , Santa Teresa and Chuy (a bordering small city with Brazil with lots of Brazilians buying in duty free shops). Well known for the chill-out culture and laid-back attitude. Camping and surfing are one of the most common activities. It is a place becoming day by day more international and cosmopolitan, so the gay and lesbian presence is on the rise. |
