Letter from Uruguayan Lawmakers in regards to the International Day Against Homophobia |

The following parliamentarians signing below has adhered to the International Day Against the Homophobia and Transphobia on May 17. They are calling citizens to show at a concentration in the stairs of "Palacio Legislativo" (Uruguayan Parliament) at 7 PM to pay respect to the matter.
Worldwide May 17 th was chosen to be the day to remember the date in the year 1990 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that Homosexuality is not any kind of insanity as stated formerly.
With this call we honor the spirit of such declaration that Uruguay signed and established:
Law 17.677 (from 29 July 2003) making a serious offense any sort of Hate Crime and Hate Speech content based on sexual orientation.
Also Law 17.817 (from Sep. 6 2004) that included sexual orientation within the categories of possible ways of discrimination.
The parliamentarians signing the letter are:
