Official Not Working holidays 2007

  • Monday, 1 January: New Year’s Day.
  • Saturday, 6 January: Epiphany.
  • Tuesday, 1 May: Labour Day.
  • Wednesday, 18 July: Constitution Day.
  • Saturday, 25 August: Independence Day.
  • Tuesday, 25 December: Christmas Day.

The following holidays are Working holidays being celebrated on the closest Monday to the actual date and apply to State Offices as well as Public and Private Education:

  • Thursday, 19 April: Landing of the "33 Orientales". To be celebrated on Monday 23 April.
  • Friday, 18 May: "Las Piedras" Battle. To be celebrated on Monday 21 May.
  • Tuesday, 19 June: Artigas Birth Anniversary. To be celebrated on Monday, 18 June.
  • Friday, 12 October: Day of the Americas. To be celebrated on Monday 15 October.
  • Friday, 2 November: Day of the Dead. No change since 2004.

Rotating days as per the Roman Catholic Church calendar:

  • Monday, 19 February: Carnival.
  • Tuesday, 20 February: Carnival.
  • Thursday, 5 April: Good Thursday.
  • Friday, 6 April: Good Friday.

Not a holiday, but observed by many:
