Uruguay Will Take Part in the World Cup of Gay Soccer |

Uruguay will be one of the 21 countries to take part in the Soccer World Championship of the international federation of soccer for gays and lesbians to take place next September in Argentina.
The Uruguayan team have already began training and it is deemed that by march 2007 the final players will be chosen.
Many of those who will make part of the team had already played in first leagues of local soccer teams such as Nacional, Rentistas or Huracán.
Within the final teamwork is Wilson Oliver, former player of Nacional, one of the players that suffered homophobia from his team Nacional, that tried to get rid of him when it was found out he was gay.
The world Cup will take place in Buenos Aires from september 23rd to 30th.
Adrián Ruso, the coach said that they were already been received by Uruguay Sports secretary, Fernando Cáceres, who gave the state support. Some of the "godfathers" of the team are local celebrities like Sergio Puglia, Daniel Lucas and Rev. Fernando Frontán.
